Every potential Congressman should know exactly what he wants to tackle upon taking office and I am no exception. I have multiple things I hope to accomplish while on “the hill” and here you will find highlighted just the first ten projects I would like to take on.
This would be the first item on my agenda as your Congressman and quite honestly ten percent is not enough but I feel it is the most reasonable place to start. Our economy is in shambles and the citizenry suffers the burden of oppressive and unconstitutional taxation but that does not stop our elected officials from raking in an ever increasing salary for being OUR public servants.
I know what it is like to be forced to make the decision between paying a utility bill and being able to put food on the table so I find it grossly irresponsible for OUR elected officials to continually vote themselves pay raises when thousands of Marylanders and perhaps millions of Americans struggle to live day to day.
As your congressman I will pledge to fight tooth and nail to put an end to this nonsense and to not only vote no for legislative pay increases but to propose legislation to reduce the annual salaries of federal legislators. They seem to have no problem spending trillions of your dollars and raising your taxes so it is only fair that they share in the burden.
The American public has been lied to and led astray by a privately operated bank that is in control of printing up our nation’s currency. This bank has burdened the American public with a fiat currency that seems to decrease in value by the day and continues to not only contribute to the economic problems faced by our nation but also decreases our power internationally and pushes us ever closer to the brink of disaster.
As your Congressman I will pledge to fully support any and all bills that call for abolishing, auditing or in any way investigating the Federal Reserve and any or all of the officials associated with it. This unconstitutional body has played havoc with our nation for far too long and the time to take action is well past due.
As your Congressman I will pledge to always fight against those who wish to manipulate our economy and to lead the charge in restoring the value of our currency by pushing for a return to the gold standard.
No matter what the media would like to call it this week, let’s be honest with ourselves. Giving billions upon billions to irresponsible corporations is nothing more than corporate welfare and we the people will be paying for this for the rest of our lives and our children and grandchildren are going to inherit an even bigger burden than we face.
When the first bailout measure was proposed, millions of Americans including thousands of Marylanders flooded the mail boxes, phone lines and emails of our elected representatives in opposition to this bill yet these same leaders voted how they wanted anyway. It is no surprise to learn that many of these same officials have extensive ties to the same corporations that they voted to bail out.
These games have to end and they have to end NOW. As your Congressman I pledge to you that I will fight day and night to end this fraud that has been thrust upon we the people and to propose legislation to recoup unspent money that has been given away.
I pledge full support for any potentially ensuing investigations on the legislators who have ties to these corporations and will author bills calling for investigations myself if need be. This is OUR country and it is high time we hold the treasonous tyrants who have damaged her accountable.
Our founding fathers were some of the brightest men to ever grace the face of the earth so why have we ignored their warnings? Our esteemed first President, General George Washington himself warned against the inherent dangers relating to foreign entanglements and yet both the left and the right seem to have forgotten this message.
We have become known as a hostile nation, a nation known to interfere in the lives and culture of others. We have let our quest for empire dictate everything from foreign policy to domestic economic policy. We have bases in over 140 nations around the globe and we continue to pick sides in conflicts that we have no business being involved in, and taking it upon ourselves to overthrow elected governments at will.
Our foreign policy has led to thousands of American deaths all around the globe, has pushed our country to the brink of bankruptcy, and has damaged our image and relationships all around the world. It is high time that we demand our exit from the United Nations and we need to immediately begin closing down bases in nations where we have no business being involved.
This alone would save the United States trillions of dollars a year and would also bring our troops home from around the globe (including Iraq) and put them to work defending our borders where we need them and where they would be of great benefit to OUR economy.
Many in the media like to portray this line of thought as one of isolationism but that could not be further from the truth. In reality this would help restore our strained and fractured relationships around the world and a “free trade with all, entanglements with none” attitude would do wonders for our economy.
A part of this plan would include ending embargos against those who we disagree with politically by practicing diplomacy instead of sanctions. To put it quite simply, we cannot afford this empire and it is time to shut it down.
To make a full list of all of the unconstitutional agencies now regulating our lives and spending us into oblivion would take days. Just a short list would include the I.R.S. (or at least the unconstitutional and burdensome income tax), the Department of Education, NEA, etc.
Let me ask you a question. Can you think of even one segment of your life that the government does not at least attempt to regulate? I could not think of any either and this, my friends, is the antithesis of the principles upon which our country was founded. We have found ourselves at the mercy of bureaucracy run amuck I find it both irritating and insulting, and I know that thousands of my fellow Marylanders stand proudly with me on this issue.
It is time for us to return powers initially granted to the state and state alone, and for the government to get out of our lives and the lives of our families. It is time that the federal government show at least a little restraint when it comes to spending tax money on nonsense. How many millions are wasted a year studying mating habits of animals? How many billions have been wasted on enforcing “no child left behind”? How many millions are wasted by the FCC just so they can decide what you and your family are allowed to hear?
Ladies and Gentleman, this is a national disgrace and I pledge to you that I will fight all of these agencies and author legislation to abolish these wasteful agencies and programs one by one.
Our medical system is not perfect but it works, and the reason it works is because medical professionals are often highly rewarded for their intelligence in their field and the long hours they put in. The free market works and our history has shown this.
The best doctors in the world want to come to America to practice and nations with socialized medicine have long lists of patients who want to come to America where they will gladly pay for top quality medical care in an effort to escape the long line, shoddy doctors and months long waiting lists they must endure in their own nations.
Despite what Michael Moore would have you believe there are thousands of patients in Canada who flock to the United States to seek treatment they cannot get in Canada including some of their own government officials.
If you would like to see what is in store for us than head on down to your local VA clinic or read the reports about the rats and mold present in some of our military hospitals. Examine the failures of Medicaid and Medicare and you will quickly see that the government has an atrocious record of managing health care and you will discover that spreading this system nationwide will be a national nightmare.
On top of quality concerns, our nation is broke and we simply cannot afford this. If we allow socialized medicine than our best and brightest medical professionals will head elsewhere and the average American will be faced with waiting periods for simple procedures than can last as long as months or even years.
As your Congressman I will pledge to fight any attempt to socialize our medical industry.
Unless you have been living under a rock than I am sure you have noticed that America is experiencing a massive flood due to the tidal wave of illegal immigration that is sweeping this land.
While America is and should be the haven for those seeking religious or political freedom or an all around better life, we cannot afford to let millions of people cross into our country unchecked. First and foremost, many of these immigrants are breaking our laws. Second, we are bankrupt!
We cannot afford to let those who blatantly disregard our immigration laws to take advantage of our social programs and take away much needed jobs from legal American citizens.
Maryland, much like the rest of the country, has felt the impact from leaving our borders wide open, and I know many Marylanders stand with me when I say that it is high time to stop policing the world and to start policing our own borders.
We have all seen the studies and the reports on the news. American students are in trouble. While we know that our students are falling behind in mathematics and the sciences, one subject that is often overlooked is the average students understanding of our sacred history.
This includes not only the history of the United States but the history of the State of Maryland. What is perhaps most bothersome is that many of our students lack a basic understanding of our national Constitution.
As someone who has spent some time working in the public education sector, I can attest to how lost our students are in these areas. Sadly, many adults are in this same category and this apparently includes our elected representatives as they continually and gleefully cast their votes for unconstitutional measures.
We can make a difference here by leading by example. I pledge to never cast my vote for anything without first examining the constitutionality of the bill at hand.
As for the students, we must take a different route to reach them and educate them. As your Congressman I could not sit idly by and let this continue to happen, and so I will pledge to you that I will reach out to every high school in the state where I will give a presentation about our Constitution and our Founding Fathers and pass out copies of our Constitution.
If America is to survive than we MUST raise a new generation of patriots committed to honoring and protecting our Constitution.
I like many of you have been distressed over the fact that our government has decided that certain members of our society are a potential national security threat, and a recent report released to law enforcement in Missouri is a sure sign of things to come.
Belonging to the “right wing” does not make someone a security threat. Being “pro life” does not make someone a security threat, belonging to a militia group does not make someone a security threat. Demanding our Constitution be respected and adhered to does not make someone a security threat, and voting for a third party candidate does not make you a security threat.
The people in these movements are patriots who are aware and involved. If simply being aware and involved in trying to make your country a better place makes you a security threat, than I guess there are a whole lot of us here in Maryland who can now lay claim to this title.
Beyond mere profiling of American citizens, we must remember that we are still dealing with the ramifications of the Patriot Act. The United States government has no right to monitor citizens in the variety of unconstitutional ways permitted by the Patriot Act.
As your Congressman I will pledge to fight any attempts to profile American citizens and will work tirelessly towards the abolishment of the unconstitutional Patriot Act.
The United States government has no right to place restrictions upon the right to bear arms by United States citizens, no exceptions!
As your Congressman, I will always stand up for the rights of gun owners and will fight tooth and nail against any attempt to regulate your purchase and/or ownership of weapons to protect yourselves and your families.
